Who we are

Standfirm is a personal Bible reading app built around the Daily Dependence reading system. It is operated as a non-commercial ministry tool.

What we collect and why

If you use the app without an account

No personal information is collected or transmitted. Your reading progress and notes are stored only on your device using local storage. This data never leaves your device.

If you create an account

When you sign up, we collect:

• Email address and password (if you register with email), or
• An anonymous identifier provided by Apple (if you sign in with Apple — we never receive your Apple ID email address unless you choose to share it)

Your reading progress and personal notes are synced to a secure database (Supabase) so they are available across devices and are not lost if you change phones.

Bible text

Bible passages are fetched from the ESV API operated by Crossway. No personal information is sent to Crossway — only the passage reference (e.g. “Matthew 1”). Passages are cached temporarily on your device to reduce network requests and are automatically cleared to comply with ESV usage terms.

What we do not collect

• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioural tracking
• Any data for advertising purposes

How we store your data

Account data and synced notes are stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database provider. Data is stored on servers in the European Union. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf and does not use your data for any independent purpose.

Data stored locally on your device (for guest users) is held in your device's private app storage and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Sharing your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party, except as required to operate the app:

• Supabase — secure storage of your account and reading data
• Crossway (ESV API) — Bible text retrieval (no personal data shared)
• Apple — account authentication if you use Sign in with Apple

We do not share your data with advertisers, analytics companies, or any other parties.

Your rights

You may at any time:

• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@standfirm.faith. We will remove your account and all synced data within 30 days.
• Export or access your data by contacting us at the same address.
• Use the app without an account — all features are available without signing in.

Children

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
